For four weeks in 2010, South Africa will be at the centre of the world’s watchful eye. The stage is busy being set and South Africa is no stranger to hosting major successful events. In 1995 we hosted the Rugby World Cup, the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002, the 2003 Cricket World Cup and in January 2006, the only street race in the inaugural A1 GP World Cup of Motorsport. The eyes of billions of television viewers, an estimated three million international visitors and the cream of the world's sporting media will be glued on our rainbow nation and we aim not to disappoint. This will leave a lasting and valuable legacy for the country and is an opportunity to market our colourful country to the rest of the world as an investment, sport and leisure destination. (more...)
